The hacking problem is nowhere near as prevalent as people make it out to be. Obvious hackers get banned within seconds/minutes on any competent server, and if you think someone is obviously hacking and they have been around for a while, it probably means they're just that good. Radar and sound in this game let me find just about anyone on the map with my eyes closed.

How does radar help you with your eyes closed?

The last LAN party I went to still had a few rounds of CS:S. The bots also allow you to have fun when you get sick of playing online. The amount of quality custom maps is also a plus.

I wish there was a lot more assualt servers. The GoG one i always played in banned me because they thought i was hacking. It's pretty easy to assume where people are going to come in after you've played the map a million times before.

I got this for my son last year and he still plays it regularly. He pwns me now and is deadly with the sniper and pistol. We both play on our favorite list of servers together and it's pretty full still on weekends.

It didn't help that the cts were all gog members and I was torching them single handedly. :)

I was actually flattered when they banned me because im usually a 1-2:1 player

The Scout/Deagle combo is all you need!

This game was so fun for so many years. I finally gave it up last year after about 5 years of steady game play and being a server admin. I'm sure I will get back into it after I'm through with BF3 and Skyrim.

I can kind of see CS:S, but really, CS? I can't believe the longevity of it. Nevermind the graphics but it's just the same crap over and over
It's on the HL engine, so it has a more solid/exact feel to it.
It rewards accuracy.

None of the modern FPS games I have played even come close to its accuracy and solid feel.
