counter-strike networking?

me and my friend want to play counter-strike. the problem is he has a fake cd-key and we can't play lan games because we both don't have a dialup modem. but we have a hi speed internet connection. is there a way that i can connect to his computer using my hi speed connection so that we can play in lan games?

this question makes no sense...you have no dial up, but both have broadband? Are you both ON the same LAN?

Well if both of you have broadband, all you have to do is host the game and have him join the game with your IP address.

set up a vpn then you can connect via internal ips only way it will work without trying to auth against the valve servers. of course hl cost pennies. my bro bought it with all addons last week for a fiver so dont be so tight wash your old folks car or sommit and go buy the damm thing
