Election day today. News is reporting there were more armed guards than there were voters.

Oh, and maduro conveniently put stands for socialism food pickups right at the voting booths in an obvious ploy to get his dependents to the polls.

Why bother? Maduro could have filled the voting booths with gold or with landmines, it wouldn't change the result. He's going to win eighty bajillion to four.

Why prop up the government? That doesn't turn on the oil for whoever is feeding the people. Let them get hungry enough so that they revolt and hope we can negotiate with the new government. We won't be air-dropping granola bars, we'll be sending arms to whatever rebel militia group rises up. That's option A.

Option B is let them starve even more and if no serious rebel group challenges the government then invade and hopefully be greeted as liberators.
