It seems his contender is getting close to announcing his selection, while the democrat selection is as foggy as ever. Probably due to the uninspiring names left on the board as several have publicly un-nominated themselves. With the creative differences between the BHO and HRC camps, I don't see that happeneing unless he starts to get a precipitous drop in the polls prior to the convention; something; very unlikely with the lack of non-fluff campaigning that will be done before then.

The current top names seem to be Biden and Kaine. Both seem a bit blah to me as to their ability to provide a nationwide boost. But if there was any way that a requirement existed that Kaine would have to resign to take the position, I'd be the first campaigning for that. As govenor there isn't anything that he can't solve by tossing new taxes or fees at (slightly excessive VA motor vehicle violation fees anyone).

I like Biden a lot...

Richardson and Nunn are the only two people who'd really drive me to either voting the other way or staying home, though.

Woot, lets hope this goes through. Even if he doesn't resign by being selected, at least he'll be busy enoug being the campaigns attack dog that he won't have time to screw anything else up as the govenor.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The vice presidential buzz is circling around Gov. Tim Kaine, but the Virginia Democrat refused to address the speculation Tuesday.

Gov. Tim Kaine hails from a state the Obama campaign hopes to snatch from Republicans this cycle.

"What I said about this is that I have been on board with the campaign since February 2007, but I don't talk about my conversations with the campaign," the first-term governor told Washington radio station WTOP. "You know I save my advice, thoughts, etc., for those conversations, and I don't really share them."

At a news conference after the interview, Kaine said he is not seeking the vice presidential slot.

"I haven't sought it, I'm not running for it, I'm not asking for it. I never asked anything of the campaign. I didn't endorse him to get anything. I endorsed him to help him," he said.

Kaine, who hails from an increasingly purple state the Obama campaign hopes to snatch from Republicans this cycle, has long been considered a top vice presidential prospect. But speculation increased Monday night after both The Washington Post and Politico.com reported Kaine is on top of the Illinois senator's vice presidential short list.

I don't like Kaine. Wasn't he the villain in Command and Conquer: Red Alert?

Either would be sound choices for Obama. I was listening to NPR today and the analyst they had on said he can go two ways with his VP selection: The Bush/Cheney way in shoring up your shortcomings, or the Clinton/Gore way in showing young and new faces in the White House.

Biden would shore up his shortcomings in foreign policy, and Kaine would give him a strong backing in his "Change" message.

I'm more interested to see who McCain picks as his VP however. There are many fresh and young faces ready to be embraced in the Democratic party, but little to nothing on the other side. And as much as Mitt Romney would like you to believe by that hair dye, he isn't 40.

Cheap shot!!!

<--- Biden fan.

Biden's my favorite out of the remaining crowd. Webb or Sweitzer(?) would be the best but neither seem interested.

Surprised so many of you think Biden would be a good pick. He's not that smart IMO, shoots from the hip, and tends to say things he shouldn't when he gets too excited or riled up. Not a smooth and savvy enough politician to hang with Obama.

Kaine would be the better pick out of the two.
