At 5:30 PM EST, I'll be unemployed. WooHoo.

I've been a Web Developer for 3 years at a firm in the same town where I got my BS. I've learned a lot from them, but am bored and want more dough so I'm enrolling full time in Grad School for a Masters in IS. During that time, I'll be working on my Java and Oracle certifications so when I'm done in a year, I'll be much more marketable. Hopefully the geek market will have turned around by then and I'll have no problem getting a job.

Ain't that gonna be tough not having money for a while? Didn't wanna do school part time? You'll be very marketable: CS degree + 3 years + masters.

Try and maintain part time employment for the next year to put on resume!

2 extra things.

1. Was not CS. Was English but took a lot of CS courses (C, Fortran, Java, VB) and got lots of training here
2. The current firm has hired me as a private contractor to convert and upgrade what I've spent the last two years working on (Perl/PHP testing service) into a JSP/Beans app.

Good Luck

As long as some $$ keep rolling in, the education will also be tax deductable (depending on your income level - FL has not income tax) You can at least get the Fed tax break up to $K. Will not cover much of FSU tution though.

I can borrow approx 7K a semester and tuition and books will only run me about $2500. I figure I'll be clearing about another 1K a month w/ the conversion job. Since I don't own a house and my car is paid for, my bills are only about 1K a month.
