Countdown timer for a looping powerpoint

I've not found this specific issue online but maybe someone here has an idea for me....

We have a looping powerpoint that has information on upcoming events that we are doing. We us it as an intro for our meetings as people are getting settled.

We also show a 5 minute countdown timer so everyone know when we are about to get started.

I want to combine the two and have the looping powerpoint also show a countdown timer on it as it loops through. The intro slides always change as events come and go and the number of slides can always be different.

Anyone know if a way to do this that might do what were looking for?

I know I can output the PPT to a video and create a countdown video that way but then I have to redo that every week which I'd like to avoid if possible.

Thanks.

Not sure I understand.

Do you want to overlay a countdown timer on top of a series of slides? So the timer stays running and on screen at the same time PPT runs through the whole series of intro slides?

Pretty much yeah. And the slides loop and just play forever.

When we are 5 minutes away from starting, we want to put a countdown timer so it shows in the corner as the slides keep flipping through.

I'll be there to stop it and go to the actual presentation after the countdown is done. Just not sure how to do the overlay since it's a loop.
