Couldn't open boot partition check for signature

I just got 4 used 30gig Harddrives - When I go to install to OS they give this prompt. (Couldn't open boot partition check for signature) Then the OS starts to load. I can run through the entire inital install of windows 2000 without problems but when I go to boot out of the blue screen it gives me a (Non-System disk or disk error ... bladi bladi bla)

I think these disks were used in a raid setup. There are no unusual jumpers and ive reformated them. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
