Hello,

Let me tell you what my wants/likes are and see if you can guide me here. Right now I have a U2411? I believe (24 inch IPS 6 ms GTG). I love this monitor and have no real issue with it, just wish to go to 2560 x 1440.

Can you guys recommend a monitor that will give me similar image quality with at least as decent a refresh rate that won't destroy the bank account? 27 inch would be as big as I would need to go.

P.S... I am obviously not one of those people that are sensitive to input lag. I can honestly tell 0 difference between the Dell and the numerous 2ms monitors that I owned before it.

Thanks,

that's kinda were I was leaning but just wanted to see if a better option was out there given the multiple threads I've been seeing about this monitor or that one lately.

Wow, Kar, that monitor does look nice for the price. Quick question about that type of monitor tech. How do the colors look compared to IPS? Does that type also support greater than a billion colors. Does it even matter?

PLS is Samsung's imitation of LG's IPS technology. They're more or less the same in terms of colour quality and viewing angles.

I have an X-star DP2710, which is essentially the same monitor with a different brand. It's one of the best things I've ever bought for my computer, and I tried and returned 9 Dell, Asus, and Viewsonic 27" 1440p monitors (for pixel defects and backlight bleed) before rolling the dice and going with a Korean off-brander that looked as good and has no flaws - at half the price.

Be warned that you have a chance of getting s display with bad BLB or dead pixels, but at least buying from Newegg you should have some recourse. The stand is also a POS, but you can buy a solid one at Monoprice for around $20.

I'd recommend the DVI-D only version of the monitor for $40-50 less. These are almost guaranteed to overclock to 90Hz, with a chance of 120Hz.
