Could you fit a queen-sized mattress into a '98 CRV?

No...at least not without folding the thing in half. I have an '05 CRV, which has more room, but still not enough space. When I moved in with my wife I had to wrap it up and tie it down to my roof-rack.

A tape measure is your friend and you could look up the cargo area of the CRV on line, but I think you will find that idea fails. 😉

Yeah I'm not thinking it's going to fit unfortunately, maybe sticking out of the back and bending it in the middle a bit :S

I couldn't fit a full size mattress (the size below queen) into a Grand Cherokee without bending, so I doubt you'll fit a queen into a CRV

Do queen size beds still come with a one piece box spring? You'll have a bit of trouble bending that. 😀

Yeah, a two-piece box spring for a queen usually costs extra.

I doubt you'll get a queen inside a CR-V. I'd definitely put it on the roof, but make sure it's secure. Don't underestimate a mattress's desire to fly off the front of your car when you come to a stop.

Yah I think this is what we're going to end up doing. Fortunately we're going about 6 blocks and that's it through a light residential zone.

Thanks guys!

6 blocks? 6 BLOCKS?! As in one more than 5, one less than 7? 😕

Carry the damn thing, ya'lazy bum! *harrumph* When I was your age, we carried our mattress uphill, in the snow, with no gloves on, for 16 blocks!!! *harrumph!*

You got everyone all thinking and helping and stuff for SIX BLOCKS. Don't you feel guilty?

*coming soon*

My thread: "I'm buying some really heavy canned goods from the market today. I live two blocks from the market. Should I take a taxi, rent a UHaul or hire a street person to carry them? NEED ANSWER NOW!!!!!"

When you think about all the 8GB quadcore machines on this forum spending most of the time posting to a messageboard...

Actually, as of late, my video box is turned off unless I am using it. Electricity bill is killing me. 🙁 I post from my quadcore box which I game on a few hours per day. That's four cores of QUALITY POSTING, mind you. 😛

And I seriously would carry my mattress (with a friend) if I only had six blocks to go and nothing else to move. I.E. boxes of clothes, etc.
