If so how much time would you need to polish off 12 cans of beer. Your choice of beer so it could include Coors light, Miller Lite, etc. Something that is light and low alcohol. However if you hate the taste of that junk, you can pick whatever you like if you prefer to go IPA or something heavier.

I believe I could finish 12 Miller Lites in 4 hours. That's 1 every 20 minutes, which is a pretty fast face over 4 hours.

Absolutely. I polished off a 12pk of Keystone Ice in one evening.. I'd say it was over maybe 4-5 hours? I tend to lose track of time when I drink though...

Um, I can, and have done that in an hour easily.

KT

Edit: oh whoops, read it at 6 pack. Would probably take me a couple of hours to do 12, but it would depend on how I felt that day.

12 cans of crap beer? Why would you?
Back in the day when I was young and stupid (as opposed to being old and stupid) I had no problem finishing a case of beer over an evening.

If you drank 12 bottles of my beer over the course of an evening, you might wake up dead.

Probably not, especially as I dislike beer in general due to it containing so much liquid for so little drunkenness. Convert that to the alcohol equivalent for wine or liquor and I'd stand a better chance, however.

FWIW, the most alcohol I've ever consumed was 5 shots of tequila over the duration of Alfred Hitchcock's Birds and 2/3rds of Iron Maiden's Piece of Mind album, which is about two and a half hours. After that, I blacked out. Assuming a shot of tequila is approximately equivalent to a can of beer, the ratio would be the same, except over a far longer duration. However, I was also 16 and 100lbs at the time, so maybe I'd fare better now.

Are we talking about 0.5L or 0.33L cans? If its the smaller ones then that's no problem, should also be able to do the other ones but it will take a bit longer because 6 liters of liquid is rather much.

4 hours would be easy, i think. i already drink 3 out of a bottle in an hour if im having a good night. might be able to do it quicker, its not a matter of holding the booze so much as it is squeeze all that liquid in. i tend to slow down as i drink, and go for higher-grav beverages

\sunday was a bottle of port, 2 or 3 beers, and a double mint julep for dinner

Polished off about 24 16oz bottles over a 12 hour period during residency, then got admitted the next day for "Holiday kidney" which is an acute kidney failure due to alcohol. Really didnt get more than a good buzz the whole day but didnt realize the total amount until afterward. (free beer and hotdogs at a hospital golf event)

Hmm well back in my undergrad college days we did century club, but I'm not as resilient as I used to be.

I think I could still polish it off in 4 hours at the most with little problem. Probably closer to 3.

3 hours probably. I drink mostly high gravity lagers anyway, so 12 cans of light beer would be a breeze.

Last time I drank a 12 pack of Coors Light I barely felt it.

About an hour.

12 cans would be enough for 24 maybe 30 brats. Takes ten minutes to bring to a boil then awhile to let them cook and lance.

Who voted 1 hour? No way can people do 12 cans in 1 hour, maybe they misread as 6 cans like KT said.

Also I realize it isn't a huge challenge for anyone who drinks regularly, or at least it shouldn't be.

Oh and they are 12 oz can.

12 cans in an hour wasn't exactly a rare occasion back in college. Binge drinking isn't entirely challenging if you don't care about your status afterward.

At a "Fifths Party" a friend and I did (evenly) a fifth of vodka in under 2 minutes. I finished my half in under 1. She slacked off and it took her 2.

My dad was a drunk. I watched him drink 12 cans of cheap beer every M-F between 5-10 PM. On Sat and Sun, he did 24 cans each day.

He was a functional alcoholic, he was never late to work or would he pass up an oppurtunity to drive somewhere, no matter how much he consumed. He was lucky because he never was in a wreck and has never even gotten a speeding ticket in his life, much less a DUI.

I'm not making excuses, he was a rotten father because of it, and he lived a long and healthy life in spite of it.

Depends if it's American beer or Canadian beer.

Assuming American beer, that's what comes out of the tap here in Canada, so 12 cans would be pretty easy in less than an hour. The pee breaks would be the major slow down.

That's 1 1/8 gallons of carbonated liquid. That's tough to do in a straight hour no matter what. Add in the alcohol, 5.76oz (assuming 4% beer), and it might get a little nauseating. A shot is 1.5oz, so it's basically 4 shots of pure alcohol, or 8 shots of something 100 proof.

How about this as a poll, would you rather have 12 cheap beers or 8 shots of Aristocrat Blue Label (100 proof) over the same time period?

Two hours is probably doable to a seasoned drinker of cheap beer, though.

Realistically, this is a 3 hour task, though. Anyone that says it's easy in 1 or 2, give that some thought. That is like doing two back to back power hours if you're refilling the shot glass just a little bit under (1.25 oz). If you're not fall down drunk, thats fine, I can buy that. But the sheer quantity and pace with carbonated liquid has to at least want to make you considering vomiting just to clear out space.

Considering Beast Light is 4.3% alcohol, I'm calling this 3 hours. I voted 2, but I'm changing it in my reply.

I rarely drink beer now, but in college I could take down a 12 pack of light, cheap beer in 2-3 hours without a beer bong or shotgunning them. Now, I drink either red wine or vodka tonics.

I could drink 12 bottles of Heineken in two hours. Wouldn't touch the cheap stuff.

Who in here can drink 12 bottles of Chimay Blue, and in what time? 😛

Back when I was in college, a 12 pack each was just a warm-up before going out for the night. If I attempted it right now, I think it would take about an hour and a half. (comfortably) But, I don't and won't drink more than 3 beers in a single night.

If there was a sizable monetary award for doing it (At least 4 figures), I think I could handle it in 30-45 minutes. I'd probably end up sick though, from the carbonation.
