Well, I'm 23 and in the military, so binge drinking is somewhat of a sport. As mentioned previously, I'm near or past a dozen in two hours and I have to write an exam tomorrow. I'll wake up with minimal hangover.

To put a perspective on the matters, I've officially joined the "Century Club," 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes (that's 5% Alexander Keiths).

I'm not proud.

I always thought the century club was 100 beers in 100 hours (a 3 day weekend that you tack Friday onto.) 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes? I think that in college, it would be hard to find guys who WEREN'T in that century club.

edit: and by the way, when did you younger generation idiots bastardize the game of beer pong? It used to be 2 cups on each side and you actually played pingpong, attempting to hit the beers. (Or put the ball in a beer.) You drank per point = hitting a beer.

No way. I would get sick from just drinking so much fluid, even spread out over six hours. Even if it was 12 cans of a non-alcoholic drink.

I usually have between one and three beers if I drink at all, spread out over several hours. Three is my limit.

It's easy if you train your stomach with lots of water beforehand. The end result is that the beer passes from your stomach to your intestines a lot quicker, which frees up plenty of room for more beer.

Of course you'll need a high alcohol tolerance as well, but that can be attained rather quickly by drinking every night for the entire week before the challenge. By the time the challenge comes around 12 beers will seem like nothing.

Doc the game didnt change people just fucked up the name and started calling beirut beer pong

as for the century club thing, doing 100 shots of beer in 100 min isnt hard, the annoying part is doing one every min on the clock. after an hour it seems like you are constantly taking one, i

No. With few exceptions, I don't like beer that comes in a can. And for those exceptions, they are larger cans and there's no way I would even drink more than 3 of those in a 6 hour period.

How big a can? US pint, UK pint, those ones the size of a soda can? It makes a difference.

I can down a can of shitty beer pretty fast. Stuff like Coors Light or Rolling Rock is just like drinking club soda. Tastes the same too. 12 in a day though? Probably not. I don't drink much and I'm pretty skinny. Would probably get too drunk before I was half way done. I don't think I've ever drank 12 of anything in one go.

A 12 pack? These days, I "could" do it in between 1 and 2 hours.
When I was in my early 20s, it would have been easy in 1 hour or less.

That said, I don't drink like that any more, I don't like to be drunk.

In college my brother was part of a frat and he told me how there was a club whos membership required you to be able to bong a 40oz. Yes, he was a member.

Now 40 ounces of beer is too much carbonation for me, but he did tell me that one of the members could do 3-40oz beers. I specifically remember it because I knew it was 10 bottles of beer.

I have no reason to not believe him, as hes not the type to create stories like this. I don't know how long it took him to bong it down. I will ask him, but bonging a gallon of beer is crazy.

update: I was mistaken. It was a 2-40oz club, and they did them back to back. Still...i dont know how people could do that with all the carbonation.

I'm not questioning the alcohol content or tolerence. I could easily do 12 shots worth of vodka in under and hour and still be somewhat coherent. I'm talking about the sheer volume of liquid and carbonation.

I have found that I can drink more beer and drink it faster than I can with water. It's like the beer just passes through and/or gets absorbed whereas water sits in my stomach.

Thinking again, I believe I can do it in 3 hours. That's 1 every 15 minutes. The first 1 1/2 hours is probably fun and easy, but after that the 15 minutes comes pretty quickly.

And I could easily drink 18 cheap lite beers in college. I'm more into hard and wine now simply b/c of the volume. Plus beer is getting dang expensive.

Yeah, but they BONGED them. Edward 40 hands means you cant take them off until they are finished.

They also had races. 2 man teams with 24 packs. First team that could finish without puking won (couldnt puke 30 minutes after you finished the last beer). 5 dollar buy-ins.

Saw a dude do a 40oz then yack about 10 seconds later. So doing 2 back to back.. yeah I don't know how you hold that down.

He said the quickest he saw for the "races" was 2.5 hours, and that was with one guy who drank 16 of the 24 beers.

I chose 1 hour. It might take me a little more than an hour but nowhere close to 2. This has nothing to do with the alcohol as I've consumed more alcohol than this in an hour. It's all about the volume of liquid which I still think is doable in an hour or so, though I would certainly be uncomfortably bloated.

Edit: After reading a few of the posts above and thinking about it a little more I'll have to revise my estimate up to 2Hrs. That's over 4L of fluid, might get real ugly if I chugged that in 1 Hr.

Probably not, especially as I dislike beer in general due to it containing so much liquid for so little drunkenness. Convert that to the alcohol equivalent for wine or liquor and I'd stand a better chance, however.

FWIW, the most alcohol I've ever consumed was 5 shots of tequila over the duration of Alfred Hitchcock's Birds and 2/3rds of Iron Maiden's Piece of Mind album, which is about two and a half hours. After that, I blacked out. Assuming a shot of tequila is approximately equivalent to a can of beer, the ratio would be the same, except over a far longer duration. However, I was also 16 and 100lbs at the time, so maybe I'd fare better now.

Yeah your age definitely factored in I'd say. That or you're just a light weight :D

Most I drank? Hmm... probably 2 750ml bottles of vodka over 48hrs. HOWEVER each bottle was finished in a period of about 2 hours during those 2 days. This was during a real bad down period a few years back.

I voted for two hours. I've polished off a 24 pack in a hard night of drinking, but that was a 6 hour period that also included hard alcohol. I've put away 12 packs in 3 hours; if I were legitimately trying for speed, 2 hours wouldn't be difficult. I'd feel like a bloated sack of shit, but I could do it.

As for people saying "no one can do 12 beers in an hour!," you're dead wrong. I personally watched my good friend get through 14 in an hour just to test his speed. I know some guys who are built like linebackers (6'4", 280 pounds) who can drink a bottle of jager in an hour and be basically sober. Granted, that's a whole hell of a lot less liquid, but they could probably do the beer challenge in an hour easy too. Big American men who are used to eating 6,000 calorie meals are going to be fine consuming that much beer.

-EDIT- I may have to try this over the weekend and post my results... Hell, maybe everyone on ATOT should. Then again, we probably shouldn't encourage people to drink themselves to death...

I'd like to feign innocence here, but every time I get together with my military buddies we're usually down a few cases in a few hours, avg 15-20 beers/person.

Years ago an ounce a minute for 100 minutes wasn't that tough, altho I was extremely sh!tfaced afterwards. Another 3 2/3 beers over the next hour or so would probably be doable.
