Ship the Nittos to me and I'll bring 'em to the border...

I have the NT555s on my Trans Am, and I love 'em. They really haven't worn much and I've had them for 3 years (about 20,000 miles). They get a  in my book.

285/40-18 tires are basically drag radials. What kind of car is this??? You can't use drag radials for a daily driver....

285s aren't that wide of a tire, plenty of street cars go up to 315.

I appreciate the offer, but the rear tires are on back order with no delivery date given....and I need tires bad.

The size has nothing to do with the tire compound. 😛
Nevermind, that was just on the DTD website where the only sizes they had were of drag radials.

On tirerack.com, they DO have like 2-3 sizes that aren't drag radials.

I recommend the Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3. The Continental Extreme Contact DW has a significantly lower tread life warranty than the Michelins, therefore will wear out significantly faster.

Its cute you think there is any relationship between the warranty and how fast it wears on on performance tire. I've bought the higher priced one with longer warranties before and they always wear out in pretty much the exact same time.

The tires are only driven on 6 months of the year anyways.

I have AS/3s on my BMW. Best all seasons I've had and better than some summer only tires I've had in the past (Falken FK452, Hankook K110 Ventus Evos, Kumho SPTs). Did pretty well in the couple of autocrosses I've done with them too. I've never tried 555s though. The AS/3 are definitely not as grippy as Direzzas or RS3s I've had in the past though..
