Could this monitor replace my TV?

I bought this Gateway FHD2400 monitor (it'll be here tomorrow) and I noticed the: 'HDMI, D-Sub, DVI-D, Component, Composite, S-Video' connectors and realized that my cable box also has an S-Video and RCA connectors. I'd like to replace my TV with this monitor but I am unsure as to what additional cabling I will need. I already own a Cable box (will upgrade to a HD cable box sooner or later, but not now). I have an Xbox 360 that will serve as both my DVD player and gaming system, and as mentioned, my cable box will be connected as well.

Ports on Monitor: Picture
Ports on Cable: Picture
Ports on Xbox 360: None, just the RCA cabling used to plug into something.

Will I need any additional cabling/converters to be able to use these features? I'd like to have the parts ordered soon so I can kick back and watch some TV on my monitor.

Thanks!

yes you will be able to run the cable box to the gateway (and you could even get an hd cable box and run it through component or hdmi to the monitor). As to if it will be controllable like a tv I don't know what you are asking (you will use the cable box to change channels, so what kind of control are you looking for)?

Yeah, that should all be fine. The main difference between a large, hi-res LCD TV and a large hi-res monitor is the TV has a tuner built in. So long as you plug the cable box in and view the input it's on and change channels using the cable remote you're good to go.
