I have my DVD set wrapped under the Christmas tree, but I saw every episode when it was originally aired and was in awe every Sunday night. I can't think of any other war movie in the past or in the near future being this engrossing.

I'm sure Kami can think of a certain movie that is just as engrossing, or more.

we would need another really good fun ground war first ;) it's all laser guided bombs these days, where's the enjoyment in killing your fellow man when you can't even see him.

IMHO, yes... so long as someone with great talent is willing to make them. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of stories to tell about the European and Pacific war that are just as engrossing as that of the 101st Airborne.

I'd like to see a high quality film about Iwo Jima, or the pacific campaign in general. The problem about a long story following one outfit in the Pacific is that the Marines had a much shorter life span than the Army in Europe.

If you haven't watched All Quiet on the Western Front then you should try to catch it sometime.

It's black and white and quite different from B.O.B. but is one movie that everyone should see.

Anyone see the A&E movie called The Lost Battalion?

Great WWI movie. It stared Ricky Schroder, and I've never lliked him much (too many memories of Silver Spoons), but his performance in this movie really changed that.

Most of the actors in that are British (including winters, martin, leibgott, Cobb and many more). They do a good job actually, and I have to agree this is a supurb piece of film, particularly if you're a world war 2 enthusiast like me :)

Have you tried reading the book NFS? It's a good read if you want something a bit more in depth and want to learn a little more about what easy company went through.

As long as Spielberg directs it, yes. The level and amount of detail and realism that went into both BoB and SPR is still unmatched to this day
