could the motherboard affect the graphics

hello,
i recently installed a new motherboard. i feel that the graphics of certain games have increased. is this possible???

what info should i give and regarding what. it is a mercury motherboard and i have a 4mb agp card.

Specific motherboard model and specific video card model.

Both previous and new motherboard.

That's OK.

Please understand that in the world of computers, there are literally thousands of components that can have an effect on the performance of each other. Specifics are very important, where just a few letters or numbers left out of the model name can mean the difference between a top-end model and a low-end model.

The question you have posed is the equivalent of "I bought a new car. It seems faster. Is it possible?"

To answer the question as best I can without any additional information, the answer is yes, it is possible. Better performing motherboard chipsets (chips which control the motherboard) can increase the performance of the entire computer.
