Could only get down to three screws when mounting my Hyper evo 212.

I tried to install the Hyper evo 212 and I could only tighten three screws out of the four onto the CPU.

The computer can boot and the temperature from HW idles around 11C and max out at 26C.

I played a match of SC2 at medium settings and the max still show it is 26C.

Is it bad to only tighten three screws or do I need to do all four?
 
Its better to mount it properly with all four screws in the long term. Screw in all four screws lightly in a crosswise pattern. Don't do the final tightening before getting the screws in their threads first.
 
3 mounts out of 4 will cause uneven mounting pressure and cause ur core temps on each core to be all over the place.

u will also cause more torque strain on the board and possibly damage it in the future from it warping.

Mount the cooler properly.

So is the bracket twisted somehow? Un-thread all the screws till there in by a thread, also the exo has those notches in the x pattern plate did you check that your in the right one?

Those temps seem pretty normal. According to one of the reviews on newegg:

Default speed is 3.5 with 4.1 in turbo mode, Black Edition rocks. I currently have it clocked in at 4.8 stable and using an older liquid cooler (H50) my max temp is only 43C while gaming (max resolution and FPS in Skyrim) and 28C in idle mode - results are not typical overclock results as PSU, Mobo, and after market coolers may vary.

43*C while gaming seems awfully low for a 6300 OCed to 4.8GHz on a H50. I have my i5 2500k running on an old H50 @ 4.2GHz as well and the temps are in the high 60s under load on stock voltage. I thought AMD was supposed to be way hotter than Intel, but it seems like it may be the other way around :colbert:
 
You can't compare Intel and AMD because we have no idea where AMD cpu's measure their temps. Besides that, it's obvious it doesn't give accurate temps anyway, at least for the package reading.
