So I was reading up on 3DFX lately and I'm starting to see some parallels with Nvidia.

Granted their were several things that killed 3DFX, some of which don't apply here. But 3 of the biggest ones do apply to Nvidia's current situation.
1.) Product delays (GTX4xx, 6 months late ffs!).
2.) Strong competition (Intel + AMD)
3.) No x86 licence
I think 2011 will make or break Nvidia. They have to get Tegra2 out the door and compete with AMD and Intel. They have catch up to the 6 month lead AMD had with their 5xxx series, they have to get a refresh part out to compete with SI. They have to launch a new GPU architecture on a new process to compete with NI. The single biggest thing they have to do is get an x86 licence and that doesn't look like happening. Right now that seems like an up hill battle.
Knock it off. Anymore troll thread will result in time off

I think there is a real possibility that by 2012 they will have to sell the company to avoid bankruptcy.
