Check out this study: http://rspb.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/273/1602/2749.full

Here are some of the symptoms, characteristic of conservative thinking, from the research:

In particular, humans with latent infections of the common protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii appear to experience a variety of long-term personality changes (Webster 2001). For instance, in infected women, intelligence, superego strength (rule-conscious, dutiful, conscientious, conforming, moralistic, staid and rule-bound) and affectothymia (warm, outgoing, attentive to others, kindly, easy-going, participating and likes people) are higher, while infected men have lower intelligence, superego strength and novelty-seeking (low novelty-seeking indicates rigid, loyal, stoic, slow-tempered and frugal personalities); both infected men and women have higher levels of guilt-proneness (they tend to be more apprehensive, self-doubting, worried, guilt prone, insecure, worrying and self-blaming

Clearly anyone who thinks differently than you must have a disorder or brain damage. How do you get away with all of these troll threads? Do you have compromising pictures of the mods?

Advertising Revenue.

It's plain to see that majority of trolls are allowed to be here for one reason. Ad-clicks.

It is amazing what the liberal mind can come up with as an explanation for the craziness they see in the mirror

You know, the last N times someone has called something a "troll thread", I've argued against it. Because in most cases, people are just calling it that because they disagree with the subject being discussed.

This is the exception that proves the rule. There is no subject to discuss here, because while there's some interesting science in those articles, the link between parasites and conservatives is just a fabrication of an asshole who hates conservatives and wants to take a swipe at them.

This. Everyone flings the troll accusation too much that when we actually get a troll thread like this one it loses it punch.

I see Moonie has changed meds again. There always seems to be a period of adjustment during which he's a bit delusional.

He'll be back to his old "you hate yourself" loop in no time. Hang in there Moonie.

That would explain this idiotic thread. Its always nice to see him get owned like this.

Are you saying cats create conservatism?

Well, well, well! Just the point I've been making consistently since before 1999, here, and yet is never seems to dawn on anybody that I just 'might' 'maybe', no, impossible', be making it here. So while you may have learned a little something about how folk react to things they see, you're still looking down the wrong end of the barrel.

They sometimes say in addition to prevention, that an ounce of demonstration is worth a whole pound of explanation. I wonder, though, if those who say so really understand the extent of unconscious motivation that prevents most of us from seeing much of anything.

It was recently made clear to me, in the "25 dollar gun tax" thread that folk don't even seem to realize they create their own reality. How will any real discussion of politics and news take place when you don't even know that?

And why is it also, that I, who seem to discomfort so many of you so often by saying it all the time, get denounced as a troll, when so many of you, and particularly of the conservative right, do it consistently in almost every thread?

I'm beginning to consider the possibility some of you may be possessed by aliens.

Would that be illegal aliens?

One of the very first that wormed its way into my mind along with those who try to vote without the proper chip in their head, or get elected for President. There are just so many invasions going on, its hard to count them. Parasites are causing this, I tell you. They are causing democratic zombies to rise from the dead to vote, for Christ sake. You read, I guess, these worms are making people tall?

Is moonbeam saying the parasites are from outer space or from Mexico?
He might be partial right on this one. Having brain parasites will certainly affect your political stance.

Another study about politics and the brain showed conservatives have a more active amygdala while liberals have a more active anterior cingulate cortex. The amygdala is used for fear and quick decisions while the ACC is used for conflicting ideas. This is consistent with another study that showed conservatives make faster patterned decisions while liberals are slower but more accurate when the pattern changed.

Potential causes of an enlarged amygdala
-having a depressed mother
-autism
-PTSD
-genetics

Don't you ever wonder how folks can view the same situation so vastly different? Forget about who is right if that is determinable at all. But simply ask why two reasonably sentient people can have such differing views regarding the same thing.

Moonbeam postulates it is due to brain defect.... in one or both of the subjects (assuming just two subject type).

I view it much like... say the Cockoo bird. This bird lays its eggs in the nest of a host... usually the same kind of host bird whose nest it was hatched in... and it does this (probably) because some combination within its 'Y' chromosome has learned to do this over time.

I maintain the minds of folks have learned their behavior (views) too... While learning to avoid lions in the savanna we also learned other valuable attributes. Like when going off on a hunt the women folk were best left under the care of less masculine males... giving rise to homosexual behavior... a developed genetic condition which is enabled by not only the genetic combo but the environment the subject finds itself.
When faced with a subject.... say... well, anything.... that is the environment that fosters the genetic combo to rise and 'feel' a particular way toward it.

Moonster is not really Liberal. He's more a combo of things and depending on the topic. You'd be surprised!

So, when you and your opposite debate the same topic ask how can that be.

How can some view a God is as real as my typing and others reject that notion. Something makes that condition a reality and it ain't a brain defect... The brain was created to be that way by the instructions that created it... Different in structure to facilitate the evaluation differently.

Your concept does not fit the realm of the conservative. It does, however, explain a lot about YO MOMMA!

Martians who crossed the Rio Grande river in the middle of the night.

Earth life probably did develop from bits of Martian rocks visiting Earth.

Think about the sequence of events (unless you're a 'young Earth person'). What might have given rise to a replicating molecule?

some may consider it to be a brain defect.

I attribute it to life experience and environment.

those that are more sheltered from opposing/environment views are more likely to take a firm unwavering stand in that they are correct and denounce with prejudice anyone that does not think their way.
