If he really keeps it up, he might go somewhere.

But I wonder if after his first setback (happens to everyone) he is still the same straight-talker.

He only gets angry when they ask him to leave the "all you can eat buffet."

"All you can eat!?! I'll show them!!!"

You know that's funny but I think a guy who is happily married and who us is used to being fat is probably more immune to derision than the average tomato. Christie's jiggly layers might be his best armor in the end. He's on the spot when hes says he's just being himself and not hiding behind an escape hatch of sketchy monkey-in-the-middle kind of talk where he tries to say something without saying something - namean?.

I can't disagree with that.

I dunno, he has a fairly extensive history of political scum-baggery of his own:

Before he ran for Governor.

In a statement, Mr. Hughes said Mr. Christie was guilty of breaking his own promise to eliminate no-bid contracts after he ran successfully to become a freeholder in Morris County. And though Mr. Christie spoke out against no-bid contracts as a prosecutor, he wound up naming friends to several lucrative posts monitoring companies that entered into special agreements with his office.

“It seems as though the rules Christie has laid out do not apply to him,” Mr. Hughes said.
While he was running for Governor:

TRENTON , N.J. - A week after the Republican front-runner in the New Jersey governor's race said he'd reject all future campaign donations from lawyers to whom he gave no-bid contracts as U.S. attorney, he was scheduled to attend a $500-a-plate fundraiser hosted by a lawyer involved in one of the oversight deals.

Christopher Christie's campaign hoped to raise $100,000 during the Tuesday night fundraiser co-hosted by John P. Inglesino, a lawyer with Stern & Kilcullen. The Roseland law firm's principal, Herb Stern, was picked by Christie to settle Medicare fraud claims at the state's medical and dental school, and Inglesino was Stern's chief counsel for the monitoring work in a contract that earned the firm $3 million.

Neither Christie nor Inglesino returned phone messages for comment Tuesday. …

Christie made that pledge after facing repeated questions over donations to his campaign by Stern, Inglesino, another partner and their wives, amounting to $23,800. After 2-to-1 state matching funds were allotted, the gifts turned into $71,400.

Christie said then he would end the campaign ‘distraction’ by refusing future contributions from monitors. However, he said he had no plans to return the gifts he'd already gotten from the six contributors, which amounted to the maximum amount allowed by law.
The refusal to give the money back prompted renewed charges from Democrats that Christie was engaging in pay-to-play, the practice of giving government contracts to political donors.

How long before we find out what's he been up to behind the scenes while being Governor?

I don't know much about him other than a few videos I've seen and I read the wiki. I do hope he's for real and frankly if he has a bondage fetish let's just keep it under wraps and pretend it didn't happen, as long as fiscally he continues to do what he sold himself on. He seems to have bent little so far. It's hard not to be pessimistic about politicians these days but perhaps he can hold true.

I am for smaller government, Mom and apple pie, and insert your own platitudes here___________________________________________________________.

Waves piece of paper which is clearly a bill to create overly bloated government, outlaw Mom's, ban apple pie, and what ever platitude you inserted is also covered by that one page piece of paper. The only thing missing in the little rant was Christie gushing out, "I am my own hero." Or if no one will blow my horn, I am not hesitant to toot my own horn at every opportunity. But 404 link to destroyed reporter not found.

But at the end of 155 second's, Christie did not say one single thing of any substance.

But still, not being a New Jersey resident, I will let the residents of New Jersey judge the
fellow because they will have to deal with him for more than 155 days, the real way to compile a real record.

So you're saying he'd be perfect for a federal position?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ya, he might be perfect for that, just give him an inmate number, and let him live in the big house with all those other convicted felons. Sit down and set a spell, take your shoes off, make yourself comfortable, you are not going anywhere until you serve your jail term. The proper and fitting true reward for scum bag politicians everywhere. At least we will know where they stand on the issues.

Actually, his entire response was on topic and fully addressed the "issue" that was raised by the dumbass reporter. He explained, in plain English, why there are *gasp* obvious and expected differences of opinion on policies. By doing so, he effectively demonstrated that the reporter's question was fucking retarded.

I like this guy and just wish we had many more like him, on either side of the aisle!

Lemon only recognizes liberalism as having substance. :D

I agree, I thought he did an excellent job of putting a whiny ass hat in its place.

Well I live here, he's quickly hitting thin ice. He needs to come up with ideas on how to generate money, just not tell everyone to take freezes and cuts. If he doesn't attempt to find some middle ground, he'll be gone in 1 term. Its one thing to have teachers and unions take cuts and freezes, but its not going over so well when you decide to pull so much funding from schools that things like music classes and freshmen sports are canceled. I give him 1 year to try find some new solutions or he will be a lame duck. I voted for him by the way. He is doing a slightly below average job of what I expected. But its still early.

This is the problem, the teacher unions have convinced everybody that the only way to cut school budgets is to cut programs, not their own salaries or benefits. Teachers and other public works employees should face the same risks as private employees, reduced salaries, furlough, and reduction in benefits, when the economy tanks.

Demand more from your teachers, not the schools.

Not a single program needs to be cut.

idk, that type of stuff in New Jersey is like being a mormon in Utah.

I, for one, love cutting your kids' music classes and after-school sports/activities.

but don't tell my family... they're all teachers and I have to stay very quiet when they start complaining about Christie while their union reps and board of ed members are making 6-figures.

2/3 of Americans are overweight. We need someone fit and healthy to lead the country to a better lifestyle. Cut taxes, spending, and fat.
