I had unplugged my monitor to do something, but must have accidentaly hit the button by accident, and when I went to plug it in, I saw sparks fly out the back of the monitor where the plug goes, I think that this has something to do with plugging in the chord when the monitor is on.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

I heard that you should *first* plug in the monitor's power chord, then turn it on, but in my case, I didn't know that I pressed the button.

I also heard a *shocking* noise, like a few cracks, and pops, that were associated with the sparks.

no, no, it's not busted, it just got sparks that flew out of it! I think it's because I plugged in the chord, and the on/off button was on.

Have you tried using it yet as opposed to asking us?

BTW, sparks are NOT normal. ie its probably one foot in the grave if not already in.
