nick1985, that totally sucks man...

i know it`s not gonna solve the memory problem but maybe you need to speak to your school`s health center? they might give you some advice on where to go and get help...

also, try speaking with your professors and ask them if they could speak slower...

let us know of any updates...

goodluck man, i hope you do well.

OMFG! speak slower cause of dumbo? i hope the rest of the class finds out and beats you making the lectures slow. he is in college now, not grade school, if he cant hand he should take an easier class or dropout all together dont even suggest making the class slower for everyone.

Ameesh, what do you have against this guy? How do you know he is stupid and not really suffering from a memory problem? Why do you have to come in here and bash this guy? Because he asked for advice/help?

I am on Ameesh's side on this. Living in S. Florida you can stub your toe and file for a disablity...it's so rediculous.

We also had a deaf girl in a class who was also a minority...she had a classroom observer (paid with our tax money I am willing to bet) to make sure the teacher was going at a fair pace for her, the thing is she was an idiot regardless of the fact and got to retake tests where she'd go from D's and C's to B's and A's....it was bullshit. She ended up graduating with honors and we were all talking about how it was totally impossible, but she did it.

If you have a learning disability or handicap, it is sad....however shouldn't mean you get special treatment....you should be glad the world is civilized because as an animal your own kind would kill you out of mercy.

So do you think if everything being equal some retarded guy that can't remember things and you applied for the same position say that required memorization skills and paid big money for that trait, he should be given the job because it's not his fault he can't remember things?

No one is saying it's not sad. However sad stuff happens in life. If you only have one leg, you aren't winning a marathon no matter how much you wish you could. Someone pours acid on your face as a baby, chances are you are not going to win any beauty pagnants or get a trophy husband or wife.

Seriously, where did the OP insinuate anything that you've written. I simply stated that if he thinks he may have a physical ailment, beyond simple difficulty in remembering information that most people have in education, then he should see a doctor or someone similarly trained in diagnosis. I'm not saying that he should get a job or somehow get better grades because of it, if anything he needs treatment, on his time and his dollar, to alleviate or deal with it.

What I am saying is that Ameesh, and you, are idiots and trolls for reacting this way. If you don't have something constructive that will aid him, then shut the fvck up.

I'm sorry if what I said offended anyone.
True, I'm a newbie; therefore, I don't know nick1985's history.
Perhaps he has posted a lot of tripe in the past (again, I don't know), but he should still be given fair treatment.
I don't particularly want to get involved but thought that I had to step in for the welfare of nick1985.

Again, sorry for the possible offence caused - agreed, it isn't a good start to my forum 'life'.

This is OT not nursery 101. My reply wasn't to the OP, but rather the other's that insist if you have a handicap you should be given 'free bonus points' to succeed in life.

There was nothing troll like about my replies. Troll is the new cry here when someone doesn't agree or doesn't get back the reply they hoped.

In regards to Nick directly he would need to see a doctor, it could merely be a chemical imbalance or it could be something physical or merely what he has to deal with. Only an MD can really answer that.

I am far from an idiot though, I probably have forgotten more than the average person would ever learn.

I've read that Lecithin is good for short term memory problems. It's a vitamin or something like that, that you can buy at the store. Maybe wanna look into that?
You wanna know what really hurts memory?(Hint: It's sticky and green):p
Don't worry, I've got a bad memory too:D

My guess would be ADD too. You should go to a doctor and tell him/her the problems you are experiencing and hopefully they can figure out what the problem is. Good luck :)
