Someone has recently begun harassing me, and anyone whose screen name he can find on aim who is asociated with me. He's threatened one girl with her life, which upset her pretty badly, and I'm fairly pissed at him.

There's only so much one person can do on aim, would you all mind IMing and warning this guy into the ground?

He's going by 'paulpuddles'. God I hate people who get off on scaring girls.

EDIT: Check for update at bottom of thread. This guy boxed himself in pretty effectively, and you all helped me exploit it. Thanks guys.
 
How is he finding people associated with you? What did you do in the first place to piss him off?

Be the better person and just put him on ignore and tell your friends to as well. I am sure he enjoys knowing he is upsetting people. Most people that do that it is the whole reason to make others feel horrible so they feel good.

Just ignore the jerk.
 
The friend of mine is bi-polar and easily affected by small things. What he did has put her in a bad mood for several HOURS now.

You can laugh, but that's just how things are. And I'm assuming her got her screen name from my profile. How he got my screen name in the first place is anyone's guess.

well, it would probably upsets me too when those things happen in front of me.
but in this "cyber-world" i do not take anything too seriously. because anything can happen.

I am not laughing but really there is nothing you can do. Just block him and tell your friend to as well.

This is cyber world. I am sure he is getting a good laugh that he upset the two of you. Just block him and be done with it and then comfort your friend and try to calm them down.
 
OMG this guy must get around because paulpuddles used to harass me too, i think theres something mentaly wrong with him he's very violent and crazy, by all means stay away from him
 
Haha, y'all did well. I think we got his goat. Shortly after posting this thread, I got this set of IMs.

Now, you all know a really strange thing? This gangmember screen name IMed me out of the blue a few days ago, and he sent me: The name and physical address of some woman, her phone #, her credit card #, and it's expiration date. I have NO clue who this guy is, and I have NO interest in commiting credit fraud, so I tell him to piss off. He signed off and this was the last I saw of him.

Funny thing though: I baited him into calling my cell phone. If I can get his phone number from that, I can use a reverse phone directory to get HIS name and physical address.

Would this be enough to get him at least harassed by the police? This dirtbag deserves it.

When my friends say something I find entertaining, I usually end up sticking it in my profile for a while, including their SN, just to give em credit. Call me crazy, but I just didn't plan on some psycho harassing my friends by getting their SNs from my profile.
 
from what i know, direct connection opens up a certain port...send him a sub7 through that port...and..(make a direct connnection and h4x0r him)
 
uh. was that such a good idea to give him your cell phone #.. either block or get a new AIM name (i know. a big hassle, but you wont get anymore harassing im's anymore).. i mean, unless he's in the same state as you, can you really do anything even if you get his info and is it really worth the trouble?

We have quite the repentent harasser. Someone pointed out my thread here to him, and low and behold, I get this set of IMs:

Gosh, all it takes is a little old legal threat, and people change their tune pretty quickly.

You're not the first person to suggest it... but I've got quite an attachment to my screen name.

I'll keep it for now. If it comes back to bite me in the ass, you all will be the first to know, and thus first ones to be able to say, "I told you so." 🙂
 
AIM is rampant with people. On of my friends has 8 different screen names, but rarely uses them...i don't understand it...i only have one...glad things got straigtened out though
