Could I damage my voice?

I was singing "It's a Hard Knock Life" in a high falsetto voice. My throat is sore. What do you think, could you damage your vocal cords from doing something like that?

you def can strain them and unfortunatly yes you can damage them. In grade school we did cinderella well I was the evil stepmom hehe anyhow one of the songs she sings is the high pitched raspy thing and well I damaged my cords and had to go to a voice teacher for many years to fix it.

Hope yours is just strained, I don't think doing it just once would damage it.

vocal cord is just like any other muscle...
you gotta stretch them...
before doing any great deal of excercise.

and yes... you can damage your voice.
