Ok you stickler. It was the brits in the strictest sense, but it was the landed British immigrants that were living in the modern day Canada. Its not like it was the entire British army that sailed over from the UK. It was a bunch of immigrants that lived in the British colony that 55 years later formed Canada. Either way it burned.

You need to brush up on your Canadian history. I'm not even Canadian yet know more than you.

The White House was burned by British troops, not settlers. And yes, many British troops were stationed in the colony of Canada (after fighting the French and taking the over the land).

British in the strictest sense? Hardly, there was no sense of being "Canadian" at that time. They considered themselves either French or British as can be seen by the existance of Lower/Upper "Canada". Heck, Confederation was not even until 1867.

I now like Canadians. Finally a Canadian response that isn't trying to convince me how great and well liked Canada is.

Now we need a France thread or mabe a Bolivia thread. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like Bolivians but I'll have to do some research. Any Americans know where Bolivia is?
 
lol.... Canada does have a well respected military as strange as that might seem to the americans. It is a small military of course compared to the US. military but it is known as one of the world leaders for it's peacekeeping tactics. the US military is known worldwide for its Occupation tactics ...
