Could a show like Married With Children survive today on regular TV?

seriously man.. FOX is way worse and doesnt give a crap about PC... i mean common didint you see "so i married a midget last year?" or the "Im so freaking incredible Ugly that i need a million dollars in plastic surgury beauty pagent"

Just because you get it through cable doesn't mean it's a cable channel. The major networks (ABC,NBC,FOX,CBS) all have to abide by different rules than stuff that is ONLY available on cable.

I know Family Guy originally aired on Fox, but I was just saying that he can't lump it in with shows on Comedy Central because they are a cable network.

fox must write their own rules.. because half the time short of southpark what they get away with is way worse than CC.. short of CC airing almost uncut southparks...

Fox walks the line, but you'll never hear sh!t or ni**er come out of someone on Fox's mouth. Just having a midget marriage or extreme makeover-type show doesn't make them worse than Comedy Central. It's more about language than content, I think.

I don't think that MWC said either, though I could be wrong. At any rate, I totally forgot how offensive The family guy was until they re-aired it. It's definatly on my regular list.

Too bad even it's getting cut up, they are sensoring some pretty benign words...

If you watched the Family Guy marathons Fox has been running they now bleep a lot of the stuff they didn't bleep 3 years ago. Even on the Cartoon Network they bleep the "Sweet zombie Jesus" line in Futurama now.

Now FX does'nt give a crap about censors but they are cable.

i used to have a counter strike clan called "No MA'AM" or more correctly [NOMA'AM]

MWC is classic and fox sucks donkey balls for cancelling it, only if they had dvds back in the mid 90s

btw MWC is STILL ON broadcast television, its just re-runs.

Tell me about it, Fox still won't air When You Wish Upon a Weinstein, only Cartoon Network will.

Would it last? no... it's not that funny in retrospect.

There are lots of short-lived sitcoms on fox that are pretty crass. They just aren't funny. These days we don't seem to let shows like full house and MWC survive too long because the audience gets bored and goes to reality TV, which though trite and lame at least are unpredictable at times.

I wouldn't be surprised if the shield makes it to fox...

I just saw season 1 and 2 dvd at barnes and noble. I believe it was $30 each.
