although coughing up blood is abnormal, and you should be concerned, there are a few things you need to consider before going into panic mode:
#1- volume...is there a lot or is it lightly mixed in with flem/mucus?
#2 color....the deeper and darker the color, the deeper from inside the body it is coming. (such at the lungs or stomach) If it a light color such as when you prick your finger I would be concerned, but not near as much as if it was a deep dark red color.
however....GO SEE A DOCTOR!!!!!
