Cottage Cheese and Applesauce

In my family, cottage cheese and applesauce was a common combination. I thought it was a regular thing, but evidently my friends all think its disgusting. I come to u guys to ask if any of you have heard of this. Also to find out what kind of percentage has, so please take the poll.

In the old days that was the "diet plate" at the restaurant - applesauce, cottage cheese and a canned peach half on a leaf of lettuce.

Yes, salsa and cream cheese is the bomb.

I don't see why people would think applesauce would be gross with cottage cheese. They probably think cottage cheese is already gross, or they prefer savory combinations with it.

Cottage cheese goes well with just about any fruit you throw at it, though I wouldn't be the one to try it with Richard Simmons. I like it with apple, so while I haven't -actually- tried it with applesauce, I can't picture it being much different.

Cottage cheese can be good with mustard if you're careful not to put too much in. Or any number of things, really.

Sounds tasty. Growing up we ate a lot of polacinta(sp)(Hungarian crepes) with cottage cheese and lemon rind filling, it was a treat with some icing sugar sprinkled on top.

I normally eat my cottage cheese w/ salt & pepper, but applesauce is good too.

Mmm...I love cottage cheese and applesauce. Other good combinations are cottage cheese + pineapple or cottage cheese + garlic salt + cucumbers (or tomatoes).
