I was shopping around for my HDTV and was shocked that Costco carried it. I've heard a lot about Costco's warranty but I'm not sure of the terms. Can you purchase an extended warranty from them, if so, is it reasonable?

Yup, that's basically what it is, but try not to abuse their return policy.

That awesome guys. I thought it was something like that. And hopefully I'll never have to use their return policy. It's just good to know it's there. Especially when purchasing a high end TV.

Thanks guys!

yah its pretty good.

one of my friend bought a 61 inch dlp from costco. within a year the bulb went out twice and costco exchanged it without any questions asked both times.

that being said in the recently earnings report costco did not make enough money because too many people were returning expensive electronics. good policy but will probably end soon due to abuse.

I don't understand why Costco still has that stupid return policy around... There are too many people abusing the system and the fact they arn't doing anything about it shows how dumb the management is. I wouldn't buy any Costco stock, if I could, for this reason alone.
People also mention returning items without the retail box or missing accessories...

I bought a dozen roses for Valentine's Day this past year and they died with 2 days. (yes, I did cut them and put them in water with that little packet of whatever the hell it is) So I called them up and asked if flowers were covered by their warranty. They said 'yes' but not to bring them back, just bring the receipt. Which I did and got a refund.

I love Costco, but alas there is not one in the city I moved to. However as somebody else touched on, their return policy may come back and bite them in the butt. Costco is a great store with killer service, but they won't be that great to anybody if they can't make profit expectations.
