$2.15 for a gallon of milk at Sams?! Whenever I go it's like $3.20. :\

The winner is anyone who can see that they're comparing apples to oranges and dismisses the test results entirely.

Indeed. Comparing Quilted Northern TP to Kirkland brand is a no-brainer. Unless you enjoy the feeling of 2-ply sandpaper equivalent rubbing on your anus, there is no question I would go for the Quilted Northern even though it's more expensive. Personally, I dismiss both though and would go for Charmin.

But I've had the displeasure of having tried Kirkland TP... It was a horrible couple months D:

Costco is just a better place than Sam's Club.

Also, this. It's essentially Walmart vs. Target as for which type of people tend to go to which.

Charmin is awful. It's like spun cobweb that falls apart under a stern look, and leaves dingleberries the same way a cat leaves fuzz on a black shirt.

What's your amazing brand of choice... because I won't entirely disagree, though you may have exagerated it just a smidge :D

Northern isn't bad for a "deluxe" paper, but I like the institutional style Scotts, or Marcal; single ply, thousand sheet rolls. It's more customizable, so thickness can be adjusted as needed. Double ply rolls can have a gap where perfect falls between poopy finger, and down pillow :^D

I guess Costo ran the comparison, as on many items they used their brand (kirkland) vs. brand name products, As seen toilet paper (though Sams has their own MembersMark), laundry detergent vs. All, cashews vs. Planters, craft ale (WTF store brand), vs. Samual Adams, wine, orange juice vs. minute maid, bread vs. non-store brand, even dog food vs major brand, marinara sauce, vs. Prego, olive oil vs. Bertolli brand.

And that made only about a 5% difference.... If they had picked Sam's toilet paper which was probably right beside the Quilted Northern, it probably would have been a tie on that one item.

That's a local thing... just like the price of gas (same brand) varies across town.

Local grocery chain that also has gas pumps, play games with gas prices and milk prices from store to store, and they admit it. I've seen gas prices vary by 30¢ between two of their stores less than 8 miles apart.

If the gas is higher out front, the milk is higher inside.

When comparing costo store brand vs. name brand, of course.

Actually I shop at both places frequently and find Costco slightly cheaper on most items I can make an "apples to apples" comparison with.

Having said that there are products that I get at Walmart or the plain old supermarket that are cheaper then either one.

I pay no membership, get lower prices & have 24 hour access at the local Walmart. I don't buy store brands of anything, so I'm getting the exact same shit for cheaper. Fuck any store that has limited hours and I gotta pay yearly for the privilege to spend more money shopping there. WHAT A DEAL!

With that said Sams > Costco simply because at the food court you can get chili on your hot dog. The only reason I'd go to either is to eat lunch for cheap. And a chili dog wins over a regular dog 100/100 times. Both have piss poor pizza so that's a wash.

I go around 1AM so stores pretty damn empty, Sam's & Costco have a shitty selection compared to Walmart and you have to buy in bulk. People see bulk and go ape shit thinking they're getting a good deal. My roomie just bought a ginormous pack of Hebrew Nationals at Costco, 4 packs from Walmart would be .18 cents cheaper. Costco's great if you need bulk and want to wait for a coupon book to come in the mail. I'd rather hit up Walmart @ 1 in the morning and have the store almost all to myself, save money and not have to buy a 4lb package of hot dogs.
