My parents used to only drink Earl Grey tea with milk and sugar, so I copied them. The only times we had plain tea were at Asian restaurants.

Good. They stopped carrying the regular kind years ago and only carried the diet. Maybe they will bring back the regular and not that diet crap. Diet drink of any kind is crap.

I get diet soda because regular soda has sugar in it and diet doesnt. But tea is something you make yourself, and add the sugar yourself. So what's the point of diet tea?! You can still add sugar to your hot water along with that packet of diet tea.

Unless this is green tea in a bottle and not tea leaves in packets that the OP is talking about.

We stopped buying that Japanese Green Tea right after the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident. We stocked up just days after the accident cause we knew we wouldn't be buying that tea from Japan ever again.

To fellow costco buyer, did anyone notice that they somehow discontined Diet Kirkland Signature Green Tea at their store?

This is the sole reason that I never became a Costco member. Why would anyone want to go through such hell?

How did the majority of folks in this thread not assume OP was talking about bottled, sweetened green tea.

That said, it tasted like cancer. Good riddance.

In general I agree, but I do like a good traditional Chai every so often. I spent a good amount of time in India some years back and sort of grew fond of Chai even though I prefer unsweetened tea.

I actually had an English guy tell me it was "uncivilized" to drink tea without sugar and milk.

Costco sells Kirkland Japanese green tea bags from Ito en. Give it a shot, probably way better than the other stuff you're talking about

I have been drinking them for years now after my morning joe. I believe they are made in Japan.

Because we're crazy. We stopped buying food products from Japan after the nuclear accident.
Kind of overkill man. Japan is a huge country you know? it's about the size of california. do you think their entire population is radiated now?

"British" tea is Orange Pekoe, which I've heard is commonly taken with sugar. That's one kind of tea. It is not most kinds of tea.

"Orange Pekoe" isn't a type or flavor of tea. It's a grade of tea, based on the size of the leaves and location of the plant they were picked from.
