Quick trivia question, name the only credit card they accept.

Used to be Discover Card, then they changed to AMEX in 99 or maybe 2000.

Did you know Costco takes debit cards? I didn't know that. Isn't the universe a wonderful place?

Good enough that I'd buy another 4 pack and individually freeze them.

LS1 - make sure you read up on what a good ribeye is/looks like. Costco has many ribeyes that really aren't any good from a cut perspective.

Wrong.

Yup. Any true "cash only" place takes only cash, as they are not set-up to PROCESS debit cards. Therefore the statement that "debit card = cash" is stooooopid in the extreme.

Baked, I'm pissed that your dumb statement forced me into publically agreeing with thesoaringsow.

Sam's has some decent steaks as well. I picked up a pcakage of sirloin tritips today that really had some excellent marbling, and they were only $3 and change per pound. I got some last week and they truthfully were quite good......

That sounds like a good reason to hand out a temp ban to baked for a few days. 😉

This makes the "choice" the better bargain by FAR. There is not that much difference between "choice" and "prime" folks. Prime has a bit more marbling (fat) in the meat, and generally comes from younger, and therefore presumably tenderer cuts, but, again, the actual difference is not all that much in most cases.

I'll bet most of us couldn't tell the difference in a double blind taste test.

I perfer to do my personal tenderizing in private, thank-you very much.

This is EXCELLENT advice in general, not just for Costco, since the USDA grading system has a HUGE subjective component in it. Your best guide is your educated eye.

Wrong forum.

They don't have a meat tenderizing forum. 😕

<------- L&R

It may not be Love, but you, a mallet, and your meat do constitute a relationship . . . of sorts.

Edit: And this is Off Topic, not Beat Off Topic.

Well la dee da, aren't you special. Not everyone has a "local butcher", I know I don't have a decent one within 10 miles of me. Either I pay out the ass at a local "gourmet grocery" or I give CostCo a shot.
