Saw this today at local Costco. I don't think this location had them before. It's across to where they sell the $4.99 Rotisserie chicken so I would have noticed it.

Cheapest cut I saw was about $154, so about 30 rotisserie chicken's. Photo I took Aug 2020 with 32.

No, the ones talked about in that article is the real Japanese A5. It's not the American Wagyu. No one would pay $100 /lb for American Wagyu.

For some reason I was thinking $99.99 per PACKAGE not per lb which would be silly enough in itself!

Keep in mind a big part of the super-high cost of Japanese beef stems from having substantially less usable land to raise beef on then in California for example. This is also a big part of why in Japan beef is considered such a "delicacy" as opposed to here in the US

Japan = approx 1.35 million cattle

USA = approx 94 million cattle (!!)
