costco returns/exchange related....pls help

gf bought something that isnt running. I am logged into her system from here at sac. I think the unit is faulty..I am trying to do an firmware update and its not working so far.

Philips tech support told her to upgrade the firmware..

So the question is can she return / exchange it another costco a 100 miles away? If the firmware upgrade doesnt work now, she is going to go return the peice she has now for a new peice..

but if the new peice does not work we would like to return it to another costco.. does costco allow that?

 
If it's a desktop/laptop computer, she can most likely return it at any CostCo location within 6 months of purchase.

Is it a computer?
When did she purchase it?
Does she have the original packing materials and boxes?
Does she have the original sales receipt?
