Has anyone bought prescription eye glasses at costco?

I told my doctor that I was going to buy some online and he said they're extremely inexpensive at costco!

Is this true? I don't have access to costco, but it might be worth getting for if it'll save me a hundred or two dollars.

let me know...thanks everyone...

yes, i have. they are very cheap at costco. in fact, you dont need a costco card to get in. i just tell the dudes at the door that i'm going to see the eye doctor and they let me in.

I got mine from Costco.

You need a Costco membership (or know someone who does -- altho I dunno if the Optical dept will allow that). Becuase when you pay for your prescription, you have to show the Costco card.

Costco's frame range from $39.99 to $119.99, and range from Kirkalnd value glasses which are great qulaity and knockoffs of top designers that are a few years old and look very modern to rimless for $69.99 to Burberry for $119.99.

Single Vision lenses atart at $28, add $15 for UV, Scratch resitant.....................

Cheap, yes, very cheap No. The Hong Kong Optical shops are the cheapest with complete pairs for under $50 which can be found online or do a search as the topic was discussed on here about foreign online glasses.

Costco has a $25 off two pair coupon that just released in there winter coupon catalog that runs for a week or two in Mid January.

they don't take my insurance, otherwise i would get mine there

I've got horrible insurance, so I just submit my receipts and they send me the out of pocket reimbursement I'm entitled too.

$80 frame/lens
$35 for eye exam.

They don't take insurance but you can get the best quality lenses cheap. I got Crizal coated lenses with anti-scratch coating and some other stuff for less than the amount I would have payed out of my pocket with my health insurance.

Got my rimless from costco, I think it was $80 for the frame and $30 for single-vision medium-weight lenses.
