*Update 1/27*
at the beginning of this month, they had a $1 instant rebate on the wheat tortillas at Costco. so instead of $2.99, it's $1.99. the promo expires on 1/31/2011.

last week i went and didnt see any on the shelf. the tag itself is gone. :(

today i went, same thing. cant find in the usual place nor is the tag there :(

You could always go to a regular store ya know. After you figure in gas, time, and frustration, WalMart may end up being more expensive.

At WalMart you will get nice cheap imports from China. Chinese tortillas are called Won Ton wrappers and they make a nice taco shell. You can drape them over a wooden dowel and dip them in oil at 350.

Since when? I've been getting the big bags of Dempsters tortillas there for ages. Weird. Try asking them. Maybe they're just sold out.

They also sell them in the freezer section. They're "homemade" style where you have to heat them in a pan before using them. Pretty good stuff.

where? next to which items?

They are right there with the bread at mine. Just like at every grocery store around here. Where the heck were you looking?

At walmart, the tortillas are next to the salsa. so i looked there at Costco. i didnt see it, so i went up and down the rest of the food isles.
like i said i never thought of looking at the fresh made bread and cake section.

In general the places to look for tortillas are in these places, and it varies by store, and sometimes is in multiple locations...

Fridge section
International foods
Factory made baked goods

I've never bought frozen tortillas, but apparently they're there also.

They're right next to the bread at my Costco. The wheat tortillas they sell are awesome, though a lot more expensive.

My grocery store has dedicated ethnic aisles. The aisles are broke down into Mexican, Asian, Italian and then some European countries. It makes it really easy to find stuff that doesn't fit nicely into any department.

I still can't find garlic butter though.

One of my biggest pet-peeves at Costco is the randon moving of some items or they just disappear.

Last week the wife had put on my Costco list to get some of those croissants that come in a tube and you take them out and bake them. A week earlier we had picked up a package at Costco. I go back and look in the same area I bought them last week. No croissants, look all over the refregirator aisles and I cannot find them. I guessed they just decided to stop carrying them. This is kind of frustrating. I had the same thing with Eggo waffles several months ago. I picked up one of those big boxes with 60 waffles. I go back next month to get more and they are all gone and I can only buy the kirkland brand waffles. One day I come in and they moved the bread aisle to the other side of the store. No signs no nothing the entire bread aisle was moved. When I try to buy apples they seem to rotate around several different aisles, at least they are all kind of in the same area.

all stores move product around. the idea is to get you walking around looking for it so you see other stuff and maybe see something else you would want.

My issue with Costco and sams is they don't always carry items all the time. one week they will have something and the next its gone. very annoying when you find something you like a at a good price.
