Costco Credit Card Policy?

I want to start shopping at Costco but I heard they don't take Mastercard/Visa credit cards. But they do take American Express Cards. Is this true?

Is it worth it to get an Amex card just to shop at costco?

they take all forms of CC now

Payment
All prices and dollar amounts on this site are in United States dollars. Costco.com accepts the following credit cards: American Express (the preferred credit card of costco.com), VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and the Costco credit card. Some electronic transactions may require extended processing in addition to credit card authorization. You will be notified by a Costco customer service representative if extended processing is required to complete your transaction request through our web site. All credit cards must be valid, authentic and you must be authorized to use them. If the charge is not authorized or accepted, we reserve the right to cancel your order without notice or liability. We reserve the right to stop accepting credit cards from one or more issuers. Your credit card will be charged when the goods are shipped to you.

edit: now that i read it, not sure if that is online only

It is.
In the stores, it's either AMEX or Debit or Check or Cash.

Yup. Was just in store last weekend and asked because we had heard about the above somewhere. In store = AmEx only (in terms of credit cards).

I was wondering. If i got a costco amex, then didn't renew my membership, what happens?
As part of the terms of agreement when you signed up, the COSTO membership automatically renews as long as you have the card.

Get the Costco AMEX. $35/year for the card and membership fees.

When is the last time you've shopped at Costco? Before 2000? It's $50 a year for basic Costco membership and $100 for Executive.

What do you get for the Executive membership over the regular one?

2% cash back and i think different hours. you can go in earlier. Basically figure out if 2% of what you're buying will be more than the $120 executive fee.

If you spend at least $2500 in a year, it's pays for the extra $50 for Executive. Anything beyond that is net cash back.
