A team of researchers at Brown University has unveiled a study into the human and financial costs of U.S. military action in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

what a ridiculous waste. That is 1/3'rd of the damm deficit.

I cant believe the fucking war mongers started this stupid war and the pain Americans are going through

1. sky high tuition fees
2. Crappy economy
3. Inflation { except for dollar sandwiches and case of beer, if that increased at the same pace as regular food prices, then rednecks would then finally get their guns out and bring down the govt }
4. crappy stock market , wiping out the retirement funds of so many old ppl.

fuck war mongers. go suck a dick

Mike Malloy made a point today, we can spend 4 trillion for war in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we can't help out Greece?

It's funny, the normal reaction to that is 'why should we help Greece, what are we going to do welfare for a country now?'

But that seems to show more of an ideology, when you notice why we ARE spending $4 trillion the two countries, but one cent for non-war reasons in Greece would be 'bad'.

I hate to hear what's happening in Greece - that one bad party (not that that could happen in the US) could act so badly that now they are selling off all kinds of assets.

That sort of thing usually benefits the wrong people and is a scheme for wealth transfer.

Quite a few people are looking at as something the US is headed towards. This whole 'hate the government' ideology encourages selling off public assets. Big mistake.

apologize for the repost, war mongers, you guys still need to go suck on Bush's and Cheney's dick, so that you feel warm and safe.

Saw a page that said the wars could have subsidized the cost to install photovoltaic cells on every house in the US.

Actually I found where I read it, the cost to install photovoltaic cells for every household in the US is only 0.5 trillion.

Its really hard to imagine how much the US would change with that, I mean that is huge progress for the society.

Can solar panels work in snow?

Yes, we know it’s high summer right now, but because we run group discounts on solar in places like Denver, we get questions about snow and solar panels pretty much year round. Solar panels definitely work in snowy climates–homeowners in snowy Germany, for example, are leading the world in terms of putting solar panels on their roofs.
