Cost of server hard drive space

I'm working at a company and they're looking to add more hard drive space to a Windows server. I'm not sure if the server is rackmounted or not, but can someone give me a link or a general ballpark estimate on how much it would cost to, say, add an additional 20 Gigs?

Would it cost about the same as a regular hard drive for a Windows machine, or would it be more expensive if it were some sort of rackmounted server?

Thanks for any help.

You're going to have to find out what type of disks it takes. If it's new it might take SATA drives and you can get a good deal on 300+ GB at less than $100. If it's older or more upmarket it might take SCSI in which case the drives will be a little more expensive but not hugely so. There's no way to buy 20GB of hard drive space unless you buy an old drive second hand.

20GB will be fairly cheap.

It really depends on what kind of server it is though. Maybe go talk to your server people since there are IDE HDDs, SATA HDDs, SCSI, SAS, Fiber etc. You'd be best talking to the people that run them as they are the only ones that should be answering this question since they will have to do the work.
