Cost for 512mb of DDR Ram?

My sister has an old computer with only 512mb of ram and i'd like to add another 512...how much do you guys think this would cost at cheapest?

He's looking for 512MB and your link is to 256MB if I'm not mistaken.

You probably should check the For Sale forum as MegaVovaN suggested, or a site like craigslist. I got 512MB of DDR for $11 on craigslist, but it takes a little luck.

For buying new, try Google or Pricewatch.com.

Also determine what the ram speed you need is. No sense looking at DDR2100 prices if you need DDR400.

Does her old MB require "low density" memory or can she use the cheaper "high density"?
What speed DDR is her MB using now?
Do you or your sister have access to price search engines via the internet?

anyways, older ram costs more per mb than new ram generally.

I just removed my old motherboard and am probably going to try to sell the old p4 2.53 and ram
