Cossacks!

Just re-installed this RTS game again and spent 3 hours last night playing it and still have not finished the first scenario (Bermuda). Last time I tried to play the game, I didn't get far and got frustrated. But this time I was actually able to establish a town and this game is turning into fun. Anyone else play Cossacks? Have you gotten Cossacks: Back to War! yet? What were your thoughts.

I haven't played this game, but I'm interested in the theme (Cossacks) because my wife has a degree in Russian Studies. Is this a game that someone who has never ever played a strategy game would want to play if they were interested in Russian history?

Not really, though maybe. I haven't really played the scenarios so there might be some nifty info in their, but the game really appeals to RTS types who might like to battle with up to 8,000 units! Never had such a battle, but once had one with a couple thousand. Playing Cossaks on a LAN is the shizbat!!!

Don't think so. In fact, the scenario I am on right now I have to take some English settlers to an island and create a town, collect resources and such, all the while alluding Dutch and pirate ships.

Me and a few friends got it, mostly cause we like playing multiplayer RTS's, and Cossacks looked fun.

And it very well could have been, if not for being full of bugs and limitations.
Great game ruined by poor programming :frown:

I love this game. But since warcraft III came out, I've forgotten about it. Time to get it out again! 😉
