Cosmos or Apevia X-Jupiter G-Type

A week has gone by and I have been sifting through pages and pages of reviews and specs on cases. I have decided that I definately want a full tower and have narrowed it down to 2 cases. I have actually mentioned to my wife (it's one of my Xmas gifts) that I want tthe Apevia X-Jupiter G-Type. The only problem is that i have not found to many full reviews on this case.

I am aticipating filling this case with a mid to high lvl (mostly gaming) system. More then likely starting with one 8800GT and eventually kicking in a second one. but I still have much more research to complete before I lay out my decision on the inside.

The Cooler Master looks to be an amazing case. If it only had a window, and was all aluminum (It's very heavy). But the case appears to be built like a CHAMP. I do like the PS at the bottom and it does seem to have plenty of airflow.

Now the other case I am looking at is the Apevia X-Jupiter

I like the style of this case, maybe I haven't fully outgrown the windows, like I thought i did.
The main negative on this case is that I haven't found any solid reviews for it.

If anyone has any input for either of these case I would appreciate your response. I do not think I can go wrong either way. To me, it seems like it's coming down to liking the style (look) of the Apevia compared to liking the name and rep of the Cooler Master.

Too bad you dragged your feet - the Cosmos was just a bit over half price after rebate thru the 28th at the Egg. I'm surprised the Apevia looks so nice - they used to be the Intl. House o' Ricecakes...
Inside it's made like some of my fave cases, the Yeong Yang 5600 series. I'd probably go for that over the Cosmos - that's trick for tricks' sake. I could give it at least a 4/5 (maybe even 4.5) on my Casitude (tm) scale just by looking at it.

Take a look at the XClio Windtunnel while you're at it. Pretty much the same as the Apevia inside but has dual 250mm side fans... Save a few bucks too.

I was eying the Cosmos myself just yesterday!! I love my P180 for it's layout and dual chamber design and it's quiet operation, but it's a bit small inside. OK, a LOT small inside.

The Cosmos was looking like the ticket, it had the cable management holes, the raised MB tray so you could hide wires on the other side, the sleds for the HDs, etc. But then I noticed something.

There's just one thing wrong and it's a biggie. The airflow scheme/HD cooling setup is faulty. See the second pic from top and it's description, here.

That's your one intake fan. You've got one intake fan for the whole case; the PS has it's own fan and that's GREAT, but that fan is only for the PS.

That one fan has to supply cool air to the WHOLE CASE. And what about the HD's? For those of us with two or more HDs (I have a 6-drive SATA array) that's a considerable amount of heat that goes NOWHERE. Allegedly, the air from the intake fan will draw heat from the HDs thru convection and keep them cool.

Pfft. Whatever. There's a reason why servers have tons of fans in the front of the case, in front of, or right in back of the HDs. They need active cooling.

IMO, the Cosmos is one of the best looking cases ever. It's huge inside and the layout is nice. If they had a filtered intake fan in front of the HD cage, I'd buy it. But it doesn't. So I won't.

FYI re. cosmos - you can get a free bracket for mounting a fan atop the HDD stack to help the HDD cooling issue - just ask CM customer service.

I believe you can buy an extra bottom fan bracket to put in the HDD area. Also, the intake fan isn't what's actually cooling the whole case. The 3 fans at the top are cooling it through negative pressure. The intake fan is really just there in a secondary role.

I've read a few articles about how HD's actually run better at higher temps, not hot of course, but a HD running warm is better than one running cool. I know a few people who swear by this, wish I had the links, dunno if there's any truth to the myth but I'd be interested to find out from some experts what's the real scoop.

to OP both cases are nice, shit you can't go wrong with either.

So I finally broke down and went with the
Apevia X-Jupier G-Type
Recieved the case today. It is a georgeous case, I love the looks of it. It just seems like it is not as solid as I thought it would be.
I will not be building the insides til after the holidays, so we will see how it hold up then.
