Just out of curiousity, where'd you find the dvd set? I have it on vhs but can't recall having seen it on dvd. Great book!

this was from a book?

hmm actually my dad gave it to me. I need to ask him where he bought it. I am not in the states though.

yes, and the book is great. ive only seen a couple episodes of the tv show.

some of his other books are well worth a read as well, i have billion and billions, the demon haunted world, and dragons of eden and enjoyed them all

contact wasnt bad, either

Demon Haunted World should be required reading in every American high school science class.

It's one of the best books I've ever read.
While I don't agree at all with his stance on religion, I still found it to be a fascinating read.

Cosmos rocks. They have been airing it on the Discovery Science Channel for a long time now. Recently, they had a special where they showed the entire series.

I bought a dvd set of this TV show that was originally aired back in 1980. It really is amazing what you can learn just from watching this. It has astronomy, history, physics, chemistry, basically all sciences touched in this seven disc show.

The show even touches on the touchy subject of science vs religion, basically taking on the stance that god doesnt exist, and this was in the early 80s!

If you havent seen it, it is definitely worth it to pick up and watch.

I remember watching this show when I was little. My dad watched it. I vaguely remember an episode when they were talking about the number "google", and he had a roll of paper with zeros on it.

that was actually a googolplex (10^10^100). Google is 10^100
