Corvette C7 Z06

Clarkson will still hate it.

...well, he'll love it. But then he'll hate it. Per TG rules for hi-po American cars. Hell, most hi-po cars that aren't Italian (or English).

Sometimes I'm almost (...almost) rooting for GM. Perhaps I have some deeply hidden patriotism trying to escape. But I'd love to see some engineer say 'hey, if we made the rear fascia out of slightly thicker plastic, and made a little reinforcing rib right here...Clarkson's damn fat ass wouldn't be able to flex it for the cameras.' :awe:

They've convinced me- they can make the drivetrain and the chassis. I think they can even make the electronics. But I want them to get the details. Maybe it's just a bit much to ask for in what is basically a 'bargain supercar.' But I'm anxious to get a chance to get up close with one and see if it impresses me more than a C6.

Jalopnik news is equivalent to Fox News.

When it's set in stone, I will believe.

BUt I'm pretty sure the figures will be close. REgardless, it will be an amazing car.

Well like they said and others have verified on the Corvette Forum, the numbers came from a place holder Z06 site that Chevy put up, but didn't hide the metadata in the page.

They really knocked it out of the park with this car. They are starting to become common in So Fla and I never get tired of looking at them. This might be my favorite poor man super car.

yeah it is unless you want to shell out double, then you could get a slower worse handling Porsche that's nicer in side, or an exoctic that's worse in every way but the 'details'

😀

I'm going to have to make some tough decisions when this comes out!

Won't be a hard decision for me. A call to Hellion or THP (twin ball bearing 67s) and MMR (5.8 billet stroker) and RET for a 26 psi E85 tune.

:awe:

Not EVEN going to put up with the shit eating grins that will be driving around when these hit the street.

On a negative note, there goes my CTS-V funds. Again.

I might have to move down there when that happens...

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how happy I am.

cuz the car rags and intardnet say so

camaro is poor mans corvette. Imagine that.

not sure what it says about my fiscal situation when I can't get any of them..... uber poor? Poor squared? Piss-poor?

More like cuz the performance you get rivals that of the top supercars at a fraction of the price, while still having instantly noticeable styling.

I believe the NSX and GT-R are similarly regarded as such.

Many people don't buy cars just for the performance alone, they buy cars to show their status. Only the very few can afford cars as expensive and rare as a Ferrari. American cars or Japanese cars, can be a technology marvel and much more reliable, but they just don't have that old world craftsmanship, even if that old world craftsmanship leaks a little.

Corvette are in high demand in other countries. They are not cheap when you live in other countries and buy a corvette.

Why is this a "poor mans" super car?

I wasn't trolling the corvette. My personal favorite car is the Viper followed by the GT 500 and GTR. This Stingray given the price and the performance is my new favorite cheap super car. Cheap is obviously a relative term. They cost more than both my cars combined. However if I wanted to buy myself a fun gift that is completely irresponsible financially this would the car to buy.
