Corsair XMS2 on an ASRock 4CoreDual

I'm kinda thinking about purchasing this ASRock mobo until I can afford to upgrade my 3d card and mobo to something much better. Question is if I buy this RAM (which operates at DDR2 800) and put it in this mobo (which only accepts DDR2 @ 667) will it "dumb" down the ram speed to only what it can handle? I believe that I am correct but just need to check before I make the investment.
