I ordered on 1/8 at 8 am on its saying backordered for me. The rebate clearly says you have to postmark the rebate WITHIN 14 days of purchasing. What has been your experience with outpost and backorders in the past?

Bummer. Now Outpost is claiming "Product currently unavailable." Doesn't look too good for backorders. Hopefully someone out there was able to get in on this.

called them up said its no longer valid. THIS TOPIC IS DEAD.

I placed an order for this ram yesterday and it did not say it was oos. So the order goes through and I get both the confirmation and the email saying the order was placed for the Corsair 2gig pc3200. I than recieve the shippng number and it now says they shipped me Muskin 2gig 3200 instead (looks like they charged me the price of the corsair ram which is only $1 cheaper). This totally defeats the purpose of me buying kit this because the $25 rebate doesnt apply. I would think a company like Outpost would at least send a email telling me it was out of stock and offer me the muskin instead of just assuming I would.

They are shipping the Mushkin, fu ckers!!!! However, there will be a $20 MIR tomorrow, but that price will be for the item that is $149.99 and not the $139.99 price. So you end up paying $129.99 instead of the $115.99 for the Corsair.

Ok just got off the phone w/ those fvckers. The supervisor tells me that they've been informed by Corsair that they're not getting any more RAM, so they've replaced it with the Mushkin. Mine hasn't actually shipped yet, it just changed over to "In process" and he expects emails to go out tonight/tomorrow asking people to switch if they want. He is not sure what the price will be on the replacement RAM, but he seemed pretty sure they would set it the same as what we had ordered (also with a rebate).

Has anyone's actually SHIPPED without being asked about the change?

Mine hasn't shipped. I am still trying to figure out if this is going to be a good deal or not. Not sure at all about this ram 🙁

Got this email - doesn't look good:

Thank you for your order! We apologize but the item(s) you
ordered is currently out of stock and we are unable to provide a
definite ship date at this time. However, we continually receive
new merchandise in our warehouse and we hope to fulfill your
order within the next thirty days or sooner if possible.

At this time, your order is still pending and will ship as soon
as the item(s) is in stock.

Mine was shipped the day I ordered it and it should be arriving today. Im still holding out that maybe it could be the cosair, but if its the Muskin Ill be returning it regardless of how good it is basically because I dont appreciate how they switched my order.

*update* accoridng to the DHL tracking summary the package got returned to sender. SO it looks like everything got worked out.

Talked to CSR and they told me to refuse package and they would send another out so rebate for Mushkin would be valid. Another CSR called my home about 10PM and stated that I should accept the package. Outpost.com would be changing the date on the rebate to an earlier start date to cover the Mushkin substitutions.

It turns out that Corsair has discontinued the manufacturing of Valueselect for this particular model. I don't know about others but to me this truly indicates the upcoming transition to DDR2 with AMD's Socket AM2 core.

Mine shipped on 1-12 overnight: I did not pay the additional overnight charge. My order had been showing back ordered as well, so I called, but I was unwilling to wait....then I emailed. Their response came back in two hours that they apologized for the delay and they shipped my order overnight. My order states "Corsair Value RAM."

DXid I get lucky?....well Did I punk! 😀

You got lucky, we all did. I have a feeling this ram is a little better than the Corsair one that was being sold. This specific brand runs for $180+ for the 2GB pack. $115.99 + shipping is pretty nice 🙂
