Corsair ram for the new iMac?

i would imagine it would work just fine. i personally use g.skill from newegg and its worked fine in my macbook pro. i ordered 16GB for the imac we have coming, and its DDR3-1333 from newegg 🙂

We normally recommend OWC memory for our customers, but corsair "should" be fine. Stay away from dirt cheap ram as we had a client buy some Patriot ram for some iMacs and they shut down when opening large photoshop files.

I had issues with OVERspec'd RAM. ie. DDR2-800 in a DDR2-667 computer, and it didn't work.

I was told it's because some RAM doesn't include all the possible timings listed in the SPD eprom, so even if it's perfectly capable of running at that speed, the Mac will refuse to start because it can't identify it as compatible.

However, if it's the right spec, then it should work. Use Crucial.com's tool to identify the specs needed for your iMac.
