Corsair psu 620

Hey my Antec Neo 480 is different than the Corsair 620. How would i attach the following

3 Hard drive
2 dvd drives
1 Floopy
1 graphics card (evga 6800)

I havent grasped the concept of rails but i see there are 2 types of modular cables that plug into the psu there are 2 port that have 6 prongs and 5 ports that have 5 prongs. I assume the 6 prong ports are the pci express. Or does it not matter what gets plugged where?

You guessed correctly, but this psu comes with specific, modular power cables for appropriate plugs.

You can't get the wrong cables in the wrong spots. But if you somehow manage to get the PCI express cable in the other slots (or vise versa) then take pics of your achievement lol 😛

Lol im not worried about putting the wrong plug in the wrong place im wondering do i need to say use the last 3 ports (going from right to left) for my hard drives and dvd drives and the first 2 ports for fans.

see the jpg in this link

In this picture they show how tha rails are seperated if i were to connect my video card and my dvd and hard drives to the blue section and my fans to the green section am i overloading that rail(blue section) or does it not matter am im putting way too much thought into this

You can plug in anywhere, it doesn't matter. They don't go in a specific order or anything like that. Just pop in the ones you need to use and you are good to go. Like you assumed, the 6 prong ones are for PCI-E and the others are regular attachments. I don't think you can really overload it with hard drives and fans despite the rails maybe being separated.

Cool thanks sorry i didnt phrase the question the right way i knew what i wanted to ask but just couldnt express it more clearly

are the cables for this long enough for a p180/182?

specs said support for 8x sata -- that means 2 cables with 4 power connectors each?

I have the HX620 powering the rig in my sig. As far as if it is long enough, can you measure how long it has to be to reach? I can then measure it and let you know.
