Corsair hx520 & antec 900 case

so i am gathering my parts for my new build. I got my 520hx PS and the antec 900 case today(nothing else). I installed the PS and connected the fans. I then turned power on and got NOTHING! The PS fan is not turning or are the case fans that I have connect to it.

Shouldn't i get power to the fans or do I need the mobo connected which i don't have yet?

Do i have a dead power supply? It's brand new out of the box!!!!!!!!
 
I'm 96.532% certain, you need a mobo. The PSU needs a signal from the mobo that the computer is turned on or else the fans would still be going even when you shut down your pc

yeah, i figured as much. Just a hint to everybody-- don't drink before you start a build!!!! 🙂
