Hey everyone I just replaced my old P67 board with the new rev.. same board.

Idle temps are 40C which are a little higher than they were before but nothing terrible. When I start up Prime however the temps immediately shoot up to 80+. I haven't over clocked... I've reapplied paste multiple times and and tried both AS5 and a different compound.

Any ideas?

How are you measuring the temps? If you are using a software monitor, do your idle temps coincide with the idle temps shown in the BIOS?

The Asus monitor warns me when temps get over 70C and I also have core temp running in the background that shows the same numbers. The BIOS health page shows the CPU at 70 right on bootup.... makes me think there is something wrong with my mounting job or the H50 pump isn't on. Just doesn't seem to be working correctly.

Check all of your connections on the H50. Make sure your mobo headers are working, Or get a 3 pin to molex converter and try that.

Ok guys I'm just a huge jackass. For some reason I thought the pump was specifically supposed to be connected to the CPU fan header but I just checked the instructions and it is not. It should be connected to anything BUT that actually while the radiator fans should be on the cpu (which makes a lot of sense).

Temps went from 40idle/90load to 35/60. Much better...

thanks

35/60 seem normal for a 4.5. should be getting around 30/50 for stock i'd say.

I'm getting 27/57 with a h60 at 4.5ghz

Ah well I'm running prime now and am 50C stock so I guess my 60 was a typo. I might overclock to 4.5 again and see what the temps but really.. whats the point. No difference in SC2 which is all I do on the comp.
