Corsair Customer Service Rocks!

I picked up a HX520 watt modular power supply from Corsair a little while ago. I put it in a box with a ton of hard drives and floppy power requirements, but no SATA or high end video cards. I wanted a good PWS that I would never have to worry about, and Corsair seemed like a good bet, so off to Newegg I went.

So as I was hooking it up, I discovered I sucked at math. I did not have enough molex or floppy connectors. I spent some time trying to find them and failed miserably at locating a place to buy them. I went with the suggestion in that thread and got a contact from Corsair's site for getting additional cables.

I shot them an email with my needs and where to buy the connectors, and Joseph O responded later in the day. Seriously, the same day (that's rare in itself today). Joseph asked for my address, and mailed me out what I needed at no cost. I didn't even have to pay shipping. If that isn't awesome customer service, then I don't know what is.

There are tons of places to get computer equipment, and tons of companies that make power supplies. You can read Christoph Katzer's reviews here on AT and jonnyGURU's excellent information on the basics. But no mater how you slice the actual hardware, don't forget the people that stand behind the product, and support it. To me, that is worth more than a slightly lower cost.

Now, I know where I am getting my memory and supplies from in the future. I highly recommend them as a company.

I followed a few members advice from here and went with a Corsair for my latest build, I couldn't be happier myself!

I emailed Corsair once because I was hungry, and they mailed me a turkey sandwich free of charge.

Ok, I made that up. But it would be cool.

How is your stomach? That was left in the break room just after Thanksgiving.

Just kidding obviously. Thank you all for the generous feedback!

Yes, yes it does. About 4 years ago, I purchased a 1GB stick of 2700 DDR for my mother board. Plugged it in, blue smoke and flame, and a burnt up board, and one F'd up stick of RAM. I took it out and everything else in my system still worked except for that RAM port and the RAM itself. So I take it back to FRY's they say I had to install it.... backwards... and it was my fault. So they won't take it back. So, I contact Corsair.

I get this really nice girl Mary on the phone, and she wanted me to take some pictures of the RAM ( it did not have a Heatsink) and send them into her. I did and 3 days late they get back to me saying that it was obviously something I could not have done. So they are sending me an RMA for the RAM. When I get my stick of RAM back from Corsair it has a check for 100 buck's to "replace my motherboard" as well.

Seriously.

I only buy Corsair stuff now, well except my PSU, because it was a really good sale. But all RAM, USB drives, and anything else I can buy now have the corsair logo on it.

I bought a corsair 620HX over a year ago and it only came with 6pin pci-e cables and with the purchase of a gtx 280 I needed an 8 pin pci cable so the very next day after my email to them they sent me 2 of them free of charge 🙂

Another +1 for Corsair service. I too bought one of the earlier 620HX that didn't have the 8-pin PCI-E cable. Shot them an email and got my cable a week later. Since then, I recommended their power supplies to friends and bought a couple Corsair flash drive.

^^^ this

Just the right mix of quality, value, and lack of gimmicky bling. (Usually that is -- I've seen some Corsair RAM with LEDS that are about as questionable in purpose as those on Ballistix Tracers, or the multi-colored heatspreaders on OCZ RAM 😛.)

Same 🙂

Yep, we know corsair's quality and service as great. Now I'm hoping they get out some 80plus silver and/or gold psus that are even quieter than the current ones. That'll make their reocommendation even stronger if so!

These testaments to Corsair's customer service are amazing. I'm a believer.

Now here's my question: why do none of the review sites cover information like this? The customer experience is a very important part of the value of buying a company's products. This is the first I've ever heard of Corsair's customer service, and truthfully, the first I've ever heard of anybody's customer service. It seems like a neglected part of the computing industry, and it would be great if AT or another big review site could cover it.

I highly doubt there's much conclusive or impartial data on things such as customer service for computer companies. It's not like we have jdpower computer tech support. Having enough data that isn't purely subjective would be a huge undertaking. Generally all we get are "a) THIS COMPANY SUCKS! or b) THIS COMPANY IS GREAT!".
